EVENTS MANAGER
Who We Are
Let’s Talk Ops (LTO) is where the best operators in venture capital come together. Our 250+ members are the behind-the-scenes powerhouses at top VC firms who make the big ideas actually happen. Through weekly virtual content, 30-40 in-person events each year, plus our annual three-day Summit, we give this community a place to connect, share, and grow.
The Role
We’re hiring an Events Manager to own (1) the planning and execution of our annual Summit and (2) our year-round event programming. You’ll be the person making sure our 180+ person, multi-day flagship event runs seamlessly. You’ll also bring to life 30-40 local gatherings across the country each year.
Think of this as the role for someone who loves checklists and champagne toasts, who thrives under pressure and sweats all the tiny details that no one else notices. About half your time will be spent on our Summit, 35% on local events, and 15% on marketing and communications that get our members excited to show up.
This is a full-time, roll-up-your-sleeves position with room to grow. You’ll be joining a small but mighty team, where you'll directly design and execute community experiences for the most influential operators in venture capital.
What You’ll Do
Lead Summit logistics: Manage venue, vendors, A/V, registration, speaker coordination, budget, and on-the-ground execution for our annual 180+ person, multi-day Summit.
Run local events (30–40/year): From securing venues and managing budgets to handling RSVPs, make each gathering feel seamless and memorable, adding creative touches like fun themes or light content when it enhances the experience.
Own event communications: Draft and schedule event promotions, member newsletters, and post-event recaps.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with LTO leadership and sponsors to align events with organizational goals and member needs.
Deliver exceptional experiences: Make sure every detail, from name tags to late-night snacks, reflects the high bar our community expects.
What Success Looks Like
Every Summit detail is buttoned up before the first member arrives.
Local events run smoothly and consistently hit attendance goals.
Our members walk away from each gathering saying, “That was worth my time.”
You’ve built trusted relationships with vendors, sponsors, and members.
You’re not just executing. You’re contributing ideas that elevate our events year after year.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of professional event planning experience, including at least one larger (100+ person) multi-day event.
A proven ability to manage logistics, budgets, and vendor relationships with precision.
Strong project management skills. You keep trains running on time, even with multiple events in flight.
Excellent writing and communication skills (you’ll be the voice behind the majority of our invites and updates).
A quick study with technology. Comfortable learning and using tools like Airtable, Softr, and other platforms that keep our community running smoothly.
Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, and ever-evolving environment.
A sense of humor and the ability to stay calm under pressure (because sometimes things do go sideways).
You care about and understand the value of community, and take pride in your contributions to it.
The Details
Full-time, remote role (U.S.-based).
Travel required for the annual Summit (approximately one week per year) and for select local events.
$95,000-$110,000 annually, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
We’ll provide the tech, tools, mentorship, and support you need to do your best work.
